Obituary of Dr. James C. Clouse, DO

James C. Clouse, DO., MACOI, FACOI, ABNM, FACNP, ABONM, FACNM, CBNC, FAAGM, 86, of Raymore, Missouri, formerly of Clinton, Mo., passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2022 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. He was born January 31, 1936 in Marshfield, Mo., the son of Leslie Orval Clouse and Hope (Bumgarner) Clouse. He married Debbie Sue (Matthes) Julian on June 12, 1998 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors are three sons, Narin Clouse (Gina), Greenwood, Mo., Justin Julian (Christina), Bozeman, Montana, and Jeff Julian (Michelle), Lenexa, Kansas; two daughters, Natashia Symes (Scott), Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Jennifer Clouse, Clinton, Mo. Dr. Clouse was proud to be grandfather to numerous grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them on his days off. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brad Clouse, February 24, 2006. He obtained his pilot’s license, allowing him to fly to his various board meetings throughout the state and region. He would even fly family and friends to various cities for dinner. Dr. Clouse received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo. He completed an Internship and Nuclear Medicine Fellowship at Wetzel Hospital in Clinton, Mo., and his Internal Medicine, Preceptorship at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Hospital. He began working at Wetzel Hospital in Clinton in 1962, and then made the transfer when Golden Valley Memorial Hospital was built in 1972. During his 59 years working in Clinton, his hard work and dedication earned him numerous board certifications such as: Diplomat, American Board of Osteopathic General Medicine (January 30, 1973); Diplomat, American Board of Geriatric Medicine (July 1993); Diplomat, American Board of Nuclear Medicine (May 5, 1972); Diplomat, American Board of Osteopathic Nuclear Medicine (February 9, 1976); Diplomat, Nuclear Cardiology by Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology; American College of Nuclear Physicians; Board Certification of Nuclear Cardiology by Certification Council of Nuclear Cardiology (September 22, 1996); Master Fellow American Osteopathic College Internal Medicine MACOI; Fellow, American Board of Geriatric Medicine, Fellow, American College of Nuclear Physicians; Fellow, American College of Nuclear Medicine (September 2009); The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, a full member since August 30, 1979; Preceptor for externs, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, Mo.; Clinical professor of Internal Medicine, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences; Clinical Research; and Gillum Society of Master Fellows ACOI, one of ACOI’s highest honors for service to the College of Internists and Profession. MACOI (October 2, 2015); Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons from 1962 to 2019, serving as President in 1978-79; West Central District Osteopathic Association from 1962 to 2019; and the American Heart Association from 1970 to 2003. He was also Chairman, Department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging with Golden Valley Memorial Hospital from 1972 to present; and Chairman, Department of Medicine, Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Fraternities that Dr. Clouse was a member of: Sigma Nu, Sigma Sigma Phi, Phi Sigma Gamma, Phi Sigma Alpha, Beta Beta Beta and Alpha Epsilon Omega. Dr. Clouse has practiced Internal Medicine, Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since 1972. He graduated from Drury University, Springfield, Mo., in 1957 with his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry; Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience, D.O., 1962; Nuclear Medicine Fellowship, Wetzel Clinic, Clinton, Mo., studied under Harvey J. Helton, D.O., 1965-1967; American College of Cardiology Certificate of Achievement in Electrocardiograms examination, June 1997; and Certificate of qualifications to perform, supervise and interpret PET/CT and SPECT/CT from SNM, August 9, 2011. In a nut shell, Dr. Clouse Practiced Internal Medicine, Nuclear Medicine and Nucler Cardiology at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since 1972. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Clinton United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book from noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Interment will be in the Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor (C.A.R.E.), or the Clinton Airport Associtation.
