Obituary of Doris Evelyn Gann

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Evelyn Gann, our loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Doris, formerly of Urich and Windsor, Mo., passed away peacefully late Saturday night, June 11, 2022, surrounded by family, at the Crown Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonville. She was born October 31, 1930, near Branson, Mo., the daughter of Ed and Dorothy Shoemaker. Doris married Donald C. Gann on August 10, 1948, in Bolivar, Mo. They were married for nearly 74 years. Doris was a long-time beauty-salon owner and beautician, owning a salon first in Harrisonville and later in Windsor, in addition to, raising her family and being a dedicated homemaker. Due to Doris' birthday falling on Halloween she had a love of anything related to Halloween. You've never had a coconut cream pie unless you've had one of Doris'; her baking was unmatched, especially her coconut cream pie. Surviving is one daughter, Debbie Salmon (Paul), Creighton, Mo.; one son, Gene Gann (Michelle), Clinton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Dawn Anstine (Jeremy), Holden, Mo.; Carrie Mueller, Creighton, Mo.; Scott Salmon (Cora), Florida; Ashley Kelsay (Joe), Creighton, Mo.; Jesse Gann (Casey), Clinton, Mo.; eleven great-grandchildren, Alexa Anstine, Tucker Anstine, Allie Anstine, Joslyn Mueller, Callen Mueller, Cable Salmon, Croix Salmon, Evelyn Kelsay, Iris Kelsay, Ada May Kelsay, and Landon Stamper, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Gann; one daughter, Kathryn Sue Gann; two brothers, Jake Shoemaker and John Shoemaker; one sister, Betty Shelton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gann Cemetery, Conway, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and these donations may be left in the care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
