Obituary of Jerry D. McWilliams
Jerry D. McWilliams, 86, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday morning, October 22, 2021 at his home. He was born August 12, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Earl Jeremiah McWilliams and Jessie McWilliams. He married Suellen (Sue) Marie King on June 19, 1959 in Hartford, Connecticut. She survives of the home. Jerry was employed with International Business Machines (IBM) for over 30 years. Not one to sit around, following retirement he went to work for Hill’s Pet Food in Topeka, Ks. He was an eight year veteran of the United States Navy. For the last several years Jerry and Sue wintered in Florida and spent their summers in Wisconsin. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed fixing things. Jerry could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, boating, sailboating, even building his own, accumulating 7 boats at one time. While in Wisconsin he was a Docent with the Maritime Museum at Sturgeon Bay. He helped restore the John Purves Tugboat that sits outside the museum. In addition to his wife Sue, surviving are two sons, Patrick McWilliam (Janice), Sidney, Montana, and Kevin McWilliams (Jennifer), Clinton, Mo.; three grandsons, Nathan McWilliams (Rebecca), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Brogan McWilliams, Kansas City, Mo., and Ian McWilliams, Warrensburg, Mo.; one granddaughter, Macy McWilliams, Sidney, Montana; and one great-granddaughter, Eilee McWilliams. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Phyllis Koger and Margaret Davis. There are no services planned at this time. Mr. McWilliams’ wishes were to be cremated.
