Obituary of Helen L. Wilson
Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen Louise Bradshaw Wilson was born to Melvin Bradshaw and Sarah Stoneking Bradshaw on February 19, 1929, the eldest of seven children. A graduate of Norris High School, she married James Edward “Jim” Wilson on May 09, 1947. Together, they had two children, James “Keith” Wilson and Karen Louise Wilson. And, on a farm in Leeton, Missouri their family of four created a beautiful life. Helen lived a life full of love. She loved her husband, faithful to him to the end of her life, not just his. She loved her children with the love only a mother knows, always careful to set a good example. She loved her grandchildren, always reminding them to make wise decisions. She loved her great grandchildren, always in awe as she was reminded, time and again, the beauty of her family as it grew around her. Helen was blessed to see yet even another generation; she always took time to love on her great, great grandchildren, regardless of the chaos around her. She prayed over all of us, daily, until her last breath. Helen lived a life full of determination for the things that mattered to her most. She was devoted to homemaking. Helen was also a tremendous asset to Johnson County as Deputy County Clerk. She spent Sundays with her family at Harmony Baptist Church. She was an active member of the congregation, playing the piano during services for so many years they’re hard to count. Her days were full of service, mostly to others. Helen lived a life full of faith. She peacefully left this earth at the age of 92 on July 16, 2021, walking into the arms of Jesus and of those who died before her. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Virginia Bradshaw Weltman and Doug Bradshaw, her beloved husband Jim Wilson, and son Keith Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Ganote and her husband Dave, daughter-in-law Linda Long Wilson, and siblings, brother Donnie Bradshaw, sister Dolores Bradshaw Rouse, brother Fred Bradshaw, and sister Sharon Bradshaw Young. She is also survived by her granddaughter Brenda Wilson, her daughters Dessiray “Desi” Karm and William Parsons, Rachael Waller and husband Jonathan, and son Arley; granddaughter Camalla Ganote and Tom Taylor, and their daughter Abigail; grandson Brett Ganote and Heather Wallace, and their sons Beau, Jaxson, and Parker; grandson Aaron Wilson, wife Chastity, and their daughter Erica; grandson Andrew Wilson, wife Andrea, and their children Jack, Hunter, and Kinley; and, granddaughter Alaina Ganote Burtrum, husband David, and their children Sarah, Madelyn, Mylee, and Paxton. Also surviving are five great, great grandchildren, Layla, William, Jamie, and Braylen (Desi), and Paisley (Rachel). Please join us in honoring a beautiful life lived for our beloved Helen - daughter, sibling, wife, mother, and grandma. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 24, 2021, Carpenter Cemetery, Chilhowee, Missouri.
