Obituary of Laura Beth Breedlove
Laura Beth Breedlove, 52, of Higginsville, Missouri passed away Saturday afternoon, June 26, 2021 at her home. She was born June 9, 1969 in North Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ronald K. Breedlove and Beverly Kay (Duncan) Breedlove. Laura grew up camping and canoeing on the Pomme de Terre river with her family and close friends. She enjoyed working puzzles and going to her sister’s basketball games. She cheered for defense (whether Rhonda’s team was on defense or not!) In the last few months of her life, she talked about camping quite often. She also spoke often of the cats the family had while Laura was growing up-she never forgot a pet’s name. If you have a pet and Laura knew it’s name, you know what I’m talking about. After she moved to Higginsville when she was 18, she enjoyed dances on campus, trips to Branson and any other activity that involved fun, music or people. Laura loved people. She was outgoing, always with a wave, her cute little wave, a smile and a “Hi” or “Hello”. Rarely did she not know your name if she met you once or twice. Not only did she know your name, but she likely had a nickname for you. She dearly loved her “curly mom” who visited every week, her “baby cakes” was the light of her life and we can’t remember the last time she called her dad “dad”. He was her “babe”. Surviving are her mother, Beverly K. Breedlove, Independence, Mo.; one sister, Rhonda Breedlove, Wichita, Kansas; special family, Susan and Chris Hearn; one aunt, Peggy Kratz, Palm Desert, California; and numerous cousins. She is also survived by the many people of Northwest Community Services and Higginsville Habilitation Center. You were also her family over the last 34 years. You loved and cared for her. Beverly and Rhonda can’t find the right words to tell you how important ALL of you were to Laura and how grateful they are for your loving care. Laura thrived and flourished in your care. She was preceded in death by her father, Ron Breedlove, on December 3, 2007; and her grandparents. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main Street, Higginsville, Mo., under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Center Industries North, P.O. Box 517, Higginsville, Mo., 64037, or these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
