Obituary of Charles Bayard, Jr.
Charles “Charlie” Bayard, Jr., 72, of Clinton, Missouri passed away early Saturday morning, February 27, 2021 at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. He was born February 4, 1949 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Charles Bayard, Sr., and Lacona Jane (Hatcher) Bayard. He married Alpha Irene Feldman, and together they were blessed with a son and daughter. Charlie was employed as a mechanic for many years, then worked for and managed the NAPA store, and finally worked at Tracker Marine. He honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Clinton Eagles Aerie #3667 and the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 1894, both in Clinton. Charlie enjoyed restoring old cars. Surviving are one son, Charles F. “Chuck” Bayard and his wife Kari, Drexel, Mo.; one daughter, Sonya L. Lasater and her husband Andy, Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Kyle Bayard, Alyssa Bayard, Dylan Bayard, Cason Lasater and his wife Mikaleigh, McKayla Lasater and Zachary Lasater; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ted Bayard, Peoria, Ill.; and two sisters, Susie Force and her husband Floyd, Pekin, Ill., and Beth J. Bayard-Cisneros, Pekin, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Sandra Belden. Memorial Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Eagles Lodge 3667, 723 North 3rd Street, Clinton, Mo. Military services will be at the Lodge under the direction of the Clinton Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 1894. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
