Obituary of Bobby E. Aldridge

Bobby Ezell Aldridge, 85, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday night, October 31, 2020. He was born November 26, 1934 in Crews Depot, Alabama, the son of Atward "Jake" Aldridge and Estelle (Cantrell) Aldridge. Bobby retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the United States Army, serving his country for 23 years. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his time in the military, he and his family also lived in the United States, Eritrea, Okinawa, and the island of Hokkaido in northernmost Japan. He joined the Army after high school and served as an enlisted infantryman in Korea before returning to Colorado Springs, Colorado to marry Lola Jean Seymour on July 25, 1956. Midcareer he attended Orange Coast College and received a degree in the burgeoning computer field eventually commanding the computer shop for the Pentagon War Room during the Vietnam War. He received a BS in Business Administration from Alaska Methodist University before his retirement in 1975. After his retirement, Bobby relocated his family to Northwest Arkansas and worked as a computer programmer, a rural letter carrier, and a white oak basket maker before returning to graduate school at the University of Arkansas and receiving his teaching certificate. He taught high school students in Elkins, AR and Eli, NV where he taught special education until he retired and moved to Missouri. Having joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in northern Africa. He worked in many positions and programs of the church for over 50 years. Among these assignments, he served with the Marshall, Mo., ministerial alliance and was a counselor in the Hong Kong Mission District Presidency, responsible for presiding over the church operations in Vietnam. Bob and Jean celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in July. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Bobby E. Aldridge (Lisa), Brian E. Aldridge (Trudy), and Bradley E. Aldridge (Julia); two daughters, Lorel L. Box (James) and Ramona L. Lee; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Aldridge (Melba); one sister, Lola Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Marla L. Aldridge; one granddaughter, Kristiana Lee; and one brother, A.V. Aldridge. An online viewing will be held Monday November 9, 2020, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at www.bradleyhadley.com. A small family graveside service and burial will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo.
