Obituary of Thomas L. Graham
Thomas L. "Tom" Graham, 72, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO. He was born May 27, 1947 in Clinton, MO, the son of William Frederick Graham and Burnice Irene (Huey) Graham.
Tom was a watch maker and jeweler, co-owner and later owner of Graham's Time Jewelry, until failing health dictated he close the store and retire.
He married Virginia Lee Newman on August 7, 1971 in Calhoun, MO. She survives of the home.
Tom was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church, past Truman Bass Masters member, Boy Scouts of America, attaining the honor of Eagle Scout and past troop leader for Troop 430. He enjoyed going to auctions, coin collecting, bird watching, following the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, and especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of his service to his country with the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam waters aboard the USS Prairie and USS Mauna Kea NE-22 Navy vessels from 1966-1970.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, surviving are one daughter, Amanda Gibson and her husband, Stephen, Lee's Summit, MO; two grandchildren, Gage James Gibson and Chloe Virginia Gibson; one brother, John Graham and his wife, Jean, Clinton, MO; one sister, Mary Alice Braun and her husband, Harding, Clinton, MO; one sister-in-law, Janet Newman, Clinton, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy, Judy Graham.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Military services will be at the chapel under the direction of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 1894, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, at the funeral home. Private family graveside services will be at a later date. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Veterans Assistance League to benefit the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, MO, or the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 430, Clinton, MO.
