Obituary of Dorcas DesCombes

Dorcas C. (Bowman) DesCombes, 87, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 5, 2019 at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

 

She was born July 21, 1932 in Clinton, MO, the daughter of Locke Bowman, Sr., and Naomi (McCann) Bowman. She married Charles DesCombes on June 1, 1952 at Shawnee Mound, MO. He survives of the home.

 

Dorcas was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, a member of the PEO for over 50 years, and current President of the Lorna Kemper Club. She had a passion for painting, designing her own yearly Christmas cards. She was very instrumental in establishing the DesCombes Agri-Business with her husband Charles. Dorcas enjoyed visiting with customers when they came in.  

 

In addition to her husband, surviving are one daughter, Diane Bernard and husband Andrew, St. Louis, MO; one son, Daniel DesCombes and wife KiKi, Clinton, MO; three grandsons, Andrew Patrick Bernard and wife Emily, Bozeman, Montana, William Charles Bernard and wife Hannah, St. Louis, MO, and Todd DesCombes and wife Tori, Clinton, MO; two granddaughters, Tina DesCombes, Kansas City, MO and Rachael Stadter, Clinton, MO; two great-grandsons, Rory Paul Bernard and Gunner Harvey Cope; and several nieces and nephews, among them are Locke and Patricia Bowman, David and Nancy DesCombes, Sarah DesCombes, Debbie and Joe Boyles and Denise and Darrin Key.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Locke Bowman, Jr.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service. Private family interment will be in Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lorna Kemper Club, and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be left online at www.bradleyhadley.com.
