Obituary of William H. Paul, Jr.
William Hadley "Bill" Paul, Jr., 86 , of Chilhowee, MO, was born August 8, 1933, the son of William, Sr., and Hildreth (McQuitty) Paul. He went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2019, surrounded by family in his home.
He attended Huntingdale grade school and was a 1951 graduate of Norris High School. He was united in marriage to Reona Bell Steward on January 17, 1953. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, stationed in both Korea and occupied Japan. He graduated from Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg with a degree in elementary education. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in High School Guidance Counseling.
He worked for the ASC office for 1 year, taught at Shawnee Mound Elementary, served as teacher, principal and bus driver at Norris Elementary and spent the remainder of his career in the Clinton School District as a 6th grade teacher and Guidance Counselor at both the Junior High and High School levels. After his retirement, he worked part time another 4 years with the Clinton and Montrose school districts as a counselor.
In his younger years he was an accomplished water skier and taught not only his children and grandchildren to ski but many other friends and family as well. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling the world after retirement, reading westerns and spending time with family. He also enjoyed helping out on the family farm. He was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.
He is survived by his wife Reona of the home; 3 children, Sam Paul and partner Max King of Trenton, MO, Gail Leaderbrand and husband Gary of Kansas City, MO and Denise Ingels and husband Richard of Pleasant Hill, MO; 4 grandchildren, Devin Nevels and wife Ashleigh, Garrett Nevels, Justin Ingels and wife Ginny and Danielle Ingels and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Helen Bisbee of Stuttgart, AR and a brother Jim Paul of Overland Park, KS as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will lie in state at Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home from 12:00-8:00 pm Tuesday. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m., at Corinth Baptist Church, Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Pallbearers are Devin Nevels, Garrett Nevels, Justin Ingels, John Paul, Tom Paul and Doug Steward. Honorary pallbearers are Danielle Ingels, Aldane Edwards, Ginny Ingels, Arabel Ingels and Ashleigh Nevels. Interment will be in Carrsville Cemetery. Military services will be at the grave under the direction of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1894, Clinton.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Corinth Baptist Church, Carrsville Cemetery or Paul Cemetery. These donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
