Obituary of Richard L. Walker
Richard L. Walker, 72, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Clinton, MO, the son of Oliver Laurel Walker and Mary Louise (Kerr) Walker.
Richard was a graduate of Clinton High School where he played on the school tennis team. He later graduated from the University of Missouri, Rolla, now Missouri University of Science and Technology. Richard worked a short time as a draftsman for Alva Allen Industries and later went to work for Walker Motor Company as a mechanic. He was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, an Eagle Scout, enjoyed reading, Science fiction, playing the guitar, fishing and tying his own flies, and was an avid Chiefs fan and Royals fan. Richard loved to bake molasses spiced cookies from an old family recipe every Christmas to hand out to family and friends.
Surviving are one brother, William Ralph Walker and his wife Jacqueline Pepper, Columbia, MO; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Englewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Kidney Foundation and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
