Tuesday, April 9, 2019Norma Jean was an amazing woman. I can remember her and my grandma Lois driving around and joking. She was a great friend to my grandma Lois and helped me as well when I was going through my divorce. She was an absolute firecracker and you couldn’t help but smile when she was around.

Saturday, April 6, 2019I had the honor and privilege of knowing Norma Jean for the last few weeks of her life working at Glendale Gardens. She would often come into the dining room before supper and sit and watch me in the kitchen. Her smile was contagious and I always enjoyed visiting with her. She captured a piece of my heart immediately. I was by her bedside when she drew her last breath. She is greatly missed. This is a time of sorrow but also a time of celebrating her life. May God comfort you and give you peace.

Friday, April 5, 2019It was the spring of 1988. It was my first day working a job in the parts department at Bucksaw.I had no idea what I was doing, and a rough day to say the least. At 5:00 in walks the most beautifully classy looking lady carrying a six pack of beer. She looked at me with a "great ole big" smile and said "you look like you could use one of these". I will never forget you NJ. Rest peacefully. When I get there, I'm buying..

Friday, April 5, 2019I remember having such fun at the Maiden home playing with Norma Jean and Tammy and a lot of other Gulley cousins. She was a beautiful lady, both inside and out. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Friday, April 5, 2019I met Norma Jean right after I graduated in 1982. I started working at Bucksaw Marina in the restaurant when it first opened in July of 1982 and Norma Jean was getting ready to marry John Mangum. Norma Jean and John Mangum were always so very sweet to me. I remembered the day she helped me to put my hair up for my wedding day on April 10, 1983. I worked that day at the restaurant and that afternoon I got married and she gave me some good advice. Travel with your husband and enjoy your life together. She was a generous and kind lady and I have fond memories of her. May the family be comforted by knowing she was a grand lady...

Friday, April 5, 2019I met Norma Jean when we were 10 years old and my mom Gladys married Marion (Punch) Gulley. We grew up to gather in the country around Gulley's Store. Had many a good time playing, picking cotton, going to the drive inn theater in the back of Uncle Norman's truck on a load of cotton. We both married in the month of July 1957 and started our families. We send our love and our prayers are with you'll. We lost a great lady and friend!

Tuesday, April 2, 2019I will (and have already) missed seeing you in the neighborhood! I enjoyed our front porch sitting so much.(I moved here shortly after John passed away) I loved hearing all your stories of the "Good Ole Days"...and the "back then's" and how this became that, and WHO did what and when!!! We had so many laughs that I will cherish. May you rest in peace. My deepest condolences to all the family & friends.

Monday, April 1, 2019I met Norma Jean almost 2 months ago when I started working at the Arbors. Norma Jean was a resident that any body could easily bond with and just love her instantly. She would always have a smile and just always be dressed so nicely in style and just a class act and a real lady. I so enjoyed taking care of Norma within the last month as we all got so much closer to as her health began slipping down hill. She would always call one hon and say thank-you. She always would brighten the day for other residents. What a shock coming into work yesterday morning to find out she had passed. I took care of her the morning before dressing her and toileting that day. So glad both you got to visit with her that day. RIP Norma Jean and you will never be forgotten and you will be so missed and we love you! God be with your entire family!
