Obituary of Harriette Walden

Harriette L. Walden, 88, of Clinton, Missouri, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born January 25, 1929, in Hartwell, Georgia, the daughter of J.C. Hembree and Alma (Roukoskie) Hembree.

Harriette married Ned Chandler and he preceded her in death. She later married Robert L. “Bob” Walden on September 7, 1980 in Birmingham, Alabama, and he survives of the home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton, where she was formerly active with the card writing ministry. She enjoyed all types of gardening and fishing, but her biggest joy was being with her family.

In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by one daughter, Sharon Jackson and husband Ken, Warrensburg, Mo.; two grandchildren, Major Christopher D.C. Smith, United States Army, and wife Sydnea, Clinton, Mo.; and Jennifer Jackson, Warrensburg, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Bethany, and Isabelle Smith, and Landon Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Hembree and Jerry Hembree; and one sister, Annette Sams.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, with Dr. Randy Shipman officiating. Interment will be in the Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton.
