William F. "Bill" Stewart, 81, of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday morning, February 6, 2019 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.
He was born December 27, 1937 in Clarksburg, MO., the son of John Francis Stewart and Emma Maxine (Hatfield) Stewart. Bill married Mary Margaret Paynter in Kansas City, MO on December 12, 1959. She survives of the home.
Bill owned and operated the Stewart Trash and Recycling Service from 1963 to 1998. He also owned Trails End Auto Salvage. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Clinton, and was a former Clinton city councilman. He enjoyed being outside working in the yard, watching NASCAR, but most of all enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by one son, Jeff Stewart, Clinton, MO; two daughters, Karen Williams, Clinton, MO and Sherry Stewart, Clinton, MO; two granddaughters, Amy Oles and husband Stanley, Clinton, MO and Kim Edwards and husband Kevin, Sedalia, MO; three great-grandchildren, Carter Edwards, Sedalia, MO, Madeline and Dallas Oles, Illinois; four sisters including Lucille Stewart, Clinton, MO; nephew, Billy Lee Kammerich, Deepwater, MO; a host of additional family and friends; and his two faithful dogs, Precious and Cookie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Michael Williams; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in the Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater, MO. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, where friends may call after 12:00 noon Friday. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor, (C.A.R.E.). These donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
