James R. “Jim” Brown, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born February 16, 1961 in Springfield, MO, the son of Robert Lee “Bob” Brown and Beverly Sue (Rice) Brown.
He was a member of the Broadview Christian Church in Kansas City, MO. Jim graduated from Hickman Mills High School in 1979. In 1983 he opened Chalkmark Graphics Printing Company and was the owner/operator for twenty-eight years. At the time of his death he was employed with Central Garden and Pet for eight years.
He enjoyed weekends spent at his lake house on Lake of the Ozarks, boating, jet skiing, and tubing. He had a knack for making people laugh. He was soft-hearted, helping others however and whenever he could.
Surviving are his parents, Bob and Beverly Brown, Clinton, MO; two brothers, Chris Brown and his wife Becky, Plano, Texas and Tim Brown and wife Teresa, Blue Springs, MO; two nephews, Robby Brown and fiancé Mesha, and Justin Brown; three nieces, Lauren Swinney and her husband Justin, Jessica Brown and Ashlee Brown; two great-nieces, Ava and Zola; and his companion, Jonna Green.
He was dearly loved as the son, the brother, the uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Clinton Christian Church, 1201 East Ohio St,, Clinton, MO. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Clinton Christian Church, and these donations may be left in care of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
